Oh no! We waited too long before making our dining reservations and every place we wanted is booked! We will be arriving Dec 18th and departing the 22nd - the busiest time of the year. Do you have any advice for a family with 2 young kids and 3 adults?

    Hi Randel,

A lot of guests tend to make multiple dining reservations 180 days in advance.  Once they figure out their schedule, they'll usually cancel any extra reservations they have.  So keep checking.  I've been able to book some great restaurants at the last minute due to cancellations.

Don't give up!  I've been in your shoes before, and although I didn't get in to every restaurant I wanted, I was able to make some dining reservations, and the new restaurants we tried turned out to be some of our best dining experiences.

Have a back up plan.  Make some reservations wherever you can get them, and choose some quick service dining locations that your family will enjoy in case you can't get a reservation you want.  There's nothing worse than being disappointed AND super hungry.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
