Hi moms! We are oh so close to buying in to the Disney Vacation Club!! The question is our family is 4 kids and 2 adults; what resort would you make your "home". I have narrowed them down to GF,BLT and AKL. Thanks for any input you may have!

Howdy Christina! I am thrilled that you are "oh so close" to becoming Disney Vacation Club Members. You will love every minute of your membership!

My initial instinct is to suggest Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. However, I cannot emphasize enough that you will them all. We recently made Grand Floridian our 5th home resort and Animal Kingdom is the favorite of my 7 year old daughter.

The reason for selecting Bay Lake Tower has to do with the description you gave me of your family (though I am curious to know the ages of your children and what theme park(s) you typically spend the majority of your time...please think about that as you make your decision).

Let's begin with the location. You will LOVE being able to WALK to and from Magic Kingdom! Chef Mickey's is a wonderful character dining experience located in the Contemporary and you will have easy access to the monorail.

In the 1-Bedroom Villas (and larger) at Bay Lake Tower, you will find a well equipped kitchen as well as a full size washer and dryer! Bay Lake Tower also offers the wonderful perk of having two full bathrooms in the 1-Bedroom Villa, giving you 3 bathrooms in the 2-Bedroom Villas.

The master bedroom has a king size bed and shuts off to the living area where you will find a queen size sleeper sofa and twin size pull out mattress in an oversized chair.

The Grand Floridian offers an additional bed with a pull-down bunk size bed in the living area and the awesome amenity of a mirror TV in each bathroom.

The villas at Animal Kingdom offer a vacation within a vacation as you feel that you are transported into your own private safari each time you enter the resort.

As a bonus, based on availability, you can enjoy your non-home resorts when you become a DVC Member and book within the 7 month window.

Best wishes as you make your decision. I'm so happy for you!
