Hi Pamela,
It sounds like you're planning your best day ever at Disney's Hollywood Studios next month.
Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway is at the top of my must-do list for this blockbuster theme park. It's the first attraction to feature Disney's dynamic duo, and it always leaves a smile on my face and a tune in my heart ("Nothing can stop us now...").
My lips are tingling at the thought of a
Fuzzy Tauntaun from
Oga's Cantina. My heart is bursting at the thought of Mickey's epic adventure during the beloved nighttime spectacular
Fantasmic! I would love for you to experience both of these things, but this is not possible with the itinerary you described. Here's why. Disney's Hollywood Studios closes at 9:00 p.m. most nights the week of October 15, 2023 (it closes at 5:00 p.m. on October 17), so the 9:30 p.m. showing of Fantasmic! is technically an after hours event. In my experience, Guests attending a post-closing showtime are directed to exit the park at its conclusion. Even if re-entry was possible, Fantasmic! is a 25-minute show, you can expect it to take at least 10 minutes to exit the Hollywood Hills Theater after the show, and it will take approximately 10-15 minutes to walk to the entrance of Oga's Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. This is not the stress I want for you at the end of an exciting park day.
Now for some good news. There are likely some earlier reservation times for Oga's Cantina that would allow you to make it to Fantasmic! by 9:00 p.m., which is the arrival time I recommend for a 9:30 p.m. show. Any Oga's reservation time up to 7:30 p.m. should allow you to enjoy the full experience before heading to Sunset Boulevard. If the time you desire is not available, keep in mind that dining availability changes in real time as Guests are constantly reimagining their plans so just keep checking. You can also use your
My Disney Experience mobile app to join the walk-up list for Oga's Cantina (click the magnifying glass on the bottom menu, search for "Oga's Cantina" and click "Join Walk-Up List"). If an after hours visit to Batuu is your must-do priority, I recommend experiencing
Wonderful World of Animation before heading to your Oga's reservation.
When I was a kid, Pamela, it used to bother me that I would leave Walt Disney World with so many things left undone. As an adult, I understand that's part of the magic of Disney. The theme parks are always changing, always growing. It's impossible to do it all (believe me, I've tried), so don't worry if a few things remain on your Disney bucket list.
Choose magic,
Jennifer
