Hi Kelly!
I'm glad to hear that you are planning a visit to Walt Disney World. Disney offers some wonderful
special offers pretty much anytime of the year and are typically updated by seasons. Mousesavers.com is a great website to check out for the latest information on discounts, it also has a historical chart to show what discounts have been offered previous years. Be sure to check the special offers page
waltdisneyworld.com for more information.
You can go ahead and book your package now and should a discount become available, you can have it to applied to your package. I suggest that as soon as you know there is a discount available to call immediately. Certain discounts, such as free dining, are very popular and only a certain amount of rooms at each resort are set aside for these promotions. Also please know that if you add a discount to your package less than 45 days before your check in date and it lowers in price, you could be subject to a $50 fee. If you should cancel the reservation in it's entirety 45 days or less before your check in date you could be subject to a $200 fee. If you have already paid for your vacation package, you can have the option of the money being refunded or used as a credit for your room charge.
Room only reservations work pretty much the same way with a few exceptions. If you find a discount that works for your dates and resort, you will have to book a new reservation and cancel the previous one. Also you have up until 5 days before your check in date to cancel or change a reservation without being subject to any fees. Thank you for visiting The Mom's Panel, remember we are always thrilled to answer your questions!
Have a Magical Vacation!
Mandy
