    How often do the resorts do upgrades?

    Hi Jennifer,

    Room upgrades do happen from time to time although sadly, I have never received one during all of my visits to Walt Disney World. 

    There doesn't seem to be any pattern as to when and why this happens but I have heard that it may be due to a shortage of unoccupied standard rooms. If that happens, you may get a preferred room without having to pay any additional charges. 

    It certainly won't do you any harm to politely ask at the front desk if there are any complimentary room upgrades available. While it is unlikely that this will be the case, it never hurts to ask.
