Epcot at Dusk

    I often see private parties on the terrace near France in Epcot. Are these advertised events or are they reserved and scheduled for private events? How would I go about getting something scheduled there?

    Hi, Jane! It's my pleasure to welcome you back to planDisney. I love chatting with a fellow Pennsylvanian about my favorite vacation destination. 

    Jane, not that I ever want to play favorites, but when forced to choose, EPCOT is always my park of choice. Now, as a guest who loves to try out special events like dessert parties, I appreciate this question. 

    There are a few spots around EPCOT including the terrace near the France pavilion that are popular spots for private events. Whether a small wedding reception or private company function, these spaces can be rented through Disney Meeting & Events or Disney's Fairytale Weddings & Honeymoons. Jane, a few years ago there was a dessert party option at EPCOT (similar to what is currently only available at Magic Kingdom Park), and while that is not on the list of Enchanting Extras for EPCOT, you never know what new experiences will be announced or make a comeback. If you are interested in a special fireworks experience and you have a smaller group, I have two recommendations. 

    First, make sure you are following the Disney Parks Blog and keeping up-to-date on all announcements for Walt Disney World. Just this year a new party at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Jollywood Nights, was born, so you never know what the future holds! 

    Second, did you know that you can enjoy fireworks from a private pontoon boat? This is one of my family's all-time favorite experiences and one that is accessible to all guests. Parties of 10 or fewer can reserve a boat with a Captain that comes with snacks, drinks, and amazing fireworks viewing right from the water. While you can choose to sail from the Magic Kingdom Park resort area to watch Happily Ever After, you also have the option to depart from Disney's Yacht Club marina and sail toward World Showcase Lagoon and enjoy EPCOT with unparalleled views.
