Hi there, Lauren! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
You must be giddy with anticipation as your vacation approaches! In no time at all, you will be enjoying your magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort.
I have great news for you - in my experience, the Walt Disney World Resort rarely shuts down for rain. As a matter of fact, I have had some of my most memorable days when it was pouring rain! Rain and afternoon storms are common in Florida - particularly in the
spring and summer months. Occasionally some rides may need to be closed temporarily if there is lightning in the area (for safety reasons), but the rain doesn't affect much!
My best advice for you is to either bring a poncho for each member of your party (and one to cover your stroller if you plan on using one) or you can purchase them in the theme parks when you arrive. We bought our ponchos on a rainy day in
Epcot years ago. They have Mickey Mouse on them and now we bring them with us on every visit!
Enjoy your upcoming trip, Lauren! Please visit us again with any other questions you may have!
