We have officially booked our first family trip to WDW in December 2017- January 1st 2018. Is there anything for families to do for the New Years Celebrations? Ive seen the formal dining experiences and the fireworks, but was hoping there would be more.

    Hello, Danielle,

How exciting that you are planning your first family trip to Walt Disney World!  And, it's even more special since you will ring in the new year while there.  To help with your planning, you can read about many of the New Year's Eve experiences guests could enjoy last year.  However, Walt Disney World is always adding new experiences for guests, so I'd encourage you to visit the Disney Parks Blogs for news and updates.

You may also want to visit a couple of independent websites that have further information and advice on visiting during this time as, honestly,  the crowds will be big.  I like the blog at Touringplans.com, Allears.net and the Disneytouristblog.com; you'll just need to search for New Year's Eve.

When our children were younger, we celebrated New Year's Eve at Walt Disney World by dining at 'Ohana and watching the early round of fireworks from the restaurant. For my children, it was incredibly special and fun while also avoiding the crowds.

As you continue planning your first trip, please let us know how we can help.

    Wishing you a magical trip,

    Kara
