Welcome to planDisney, Rene!
While I love giggling through attractions, eating all the treats, and saying hello to Mickey Mouse, I am also a huge fan of tranquility and relaxation during a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. One of my favorite things to do during my visits is wake up early and stroll the quiet grounds of my resort with a cup of tea in hand, taking in a beautiful Florida sunrise and feeling at peace. For that reason, a sunrise yoga session is on my Disney bucket list.
While I’m happy to share that yoga has been among the recreation offerings at select resorts in the past, all yoga activities are currently paused as part of
Walt Disney World Resort’s phased reopening for health and safety reasons. Because things are changing all the time, and I see your visit is still a few months away, I recommend checking with the front desk when you check in to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel. They will have the most up to date information about current recreation offerings, and I’m sending pixie dusted wishes that yoga appears at your resort by the time of your arrival.
I have a regular yoga and mediation practice, and I find it easy to keep up while on vacation. Packing a travel yoga mat or even using a towel works well for me; my favorite is to put down a towel on the balcony (if my room has a balcony) and enjoy some fresh morning air during my practice. There are
walking and jogging trails at several of the resort hotels if you’re looking for other exercise ideas.
Have you seen
this Disney Parks Blog story featuring yoga practice at Disney resorts around the world for International Yoga Day? It beautifully highlights the magic of self-care and the tranquility of connecting with yourself in a beautiful spot. I am obsessed with the Mickey Mouse lotus flower logo and hope there is merchandise with that logo available to us in the future.
Namaste, Rene, and may you have a magical vacation.
