Howdy Roberto!
Welcome to planDisney. Oh man, I love it when I get to help a fellow Texan plan their future vacation to
The Most Magical Place on Earth. Did you know that Disney has connections to Texas? WED Enterprises, now known as Walt Disney Imagineering, helped to design the visitor center at the Johnson Space Center in Houston. I think Walt Disney would have been amazed to see how it turned out. Alrighty now, let's get to your question.
As of right now, Walt Disney World Resort vacation packages do not include an option to book airfare. Resort packages include hotel accommodations, theme park tickets, and the option to add a
Disney Dining Plan and other magical add-ons, such as Memory Maker. One of the great things about living in Texas is that we have a ton of options for flying to the Orlando area, and you should not have any problem finding numerous options to meet your family’s needs. If your travel days are flexible, I would encourage you to look at multiple days and times to see if you can save a little by booking on a cheaper day. I know that I was recently looking for flights for my family, and I was able to save quite a bit of money by simply changing our flights by a day and leaving a little earlier in the morning.
Before I leave you, I would love to give you a couple of my favorite tips to help with your planning. One of the first things I would suggest is to download the
My Disney Experience app. This will be your hub and go-to app for almost everything you will want to do while there. Next, make sure you know when your booking windows open. Advanced dining reservations open at 6 AM EST, 60 days prior to your arrival, which is Saturday, May 2nd. If you will be staying at a Disney World Resort Collection Hotel, you will be able to book your Lightning Lane Multi Passes at 7 AM EST 7 days prior to your arrival. Be sure to take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with it so that you can take advantage of the neat capabilities.
Roberto, I hope this helps with all of your planning and that you and your family have a magical time visiting Walt Disney World. If you have any further questions, please stop back by, and we’ll be happy to assist you.
See ya real soon,
Robert
