Hello Kristin, and welcome to planDisney! The Disneyland Resort is the perfect setting for an occasion as special as a vow renewal. And I see you'll be visiting during my favorite time of year,
the Holidays! The towering tree, twinkling lights, strands of garland, and other decorations add an extra layer of magic to the Resort.
Kristin, vow renewals (as well as engagements, weddings, and honeymoons) for the Disneyland Resort and other Disney vacation destinations are coordinated through
Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons. They can expertly coordinate everything, from venues to food, flowers, decorations, and more. Since your trip is coming up at the end of this year, you should contact the Disney Weddings team soon to schedule a consultation. Simply
fill out the online form to get started. You can also check out the
guide to renewing vows on the Ever After Blog.
Your question reminded me of my time aboard the Disney Wish last fall. I saw a couple having a beautiful ceremony right there in the ship's Atrium Lobby. I remember thinking how special it must have been for them to set sail with their closest loved ones for the event, and enjoy everything a Disney Cruise offers, including amazing stage shows, rotational dining, great destinations, and the Disney magic we all love. The
Disney Wonder has springtime sailings out of San Diego – that could be a fun option for you to explore with the Disney Weddings team.
If you decide not to do a formal ceremony, you can certainly sprinkle some pixie dust onto the plans for your upcoming trip to make it feel extra special. I have some ideas:
- Disney PhotoPass photographers are stationed throughout the Resort. You can plan to take photos in a few favorite locations, such as in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. With the Lightning Lane Multi-Pass, you'll enjoy unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass digital photos as well as shorter waits at popular attractions all day long.
- Once the sun goes down, cruise under the canopy of lights on the Storybook Land Canal Boats. It's very romantic!
- Get a reservation for one of the table service restaurants. Blue Bayou is my favorite, where you can dine by lantern light beside Pirates of the Caribbean. This is a popular spot, so start looking for reservations 60 days in advance. There are some locations where you can pre-order a Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake, too!
- I love the dining packages for certain nighttime spectaculars. You'll get a nice meal and reserved seating for the corresponding show. The World of Color Dessert Party sounds divine!
The
Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration just kicked off with the theme of “Celebrate Happy.” I love that you are planning to celebrate your happy at the park this December, Kristin. If you have any other questions, please reach out. We're always glad to help here at planDisney!
Wishing you magic,
Kriss
