Hi there, KateLynn!
A warm welcome to planDisney! Your question brought back such sweet memories for me, reminding me of the days when my husband and I were still dating. One scorching summer day, we visited the theme parks, and I thought I was going to melt away. To my surprise, my then-boyfriend gifted me on the spot with a lavender parasol with my name hand-painted on it with a beautiful rose, a nod to my favorite princess. Talk about a real-life prince, right?
KateLynn, your question also got me thinking about my recent visit to the
Disneyland Resort with my friend, Panelist Michelle. We were strolling through
New Orleans Square just the other day, and it struck us that we didn't spot any personalized parasols. So, I decided to have a chat with a friendly Cast Member, and it turns out that, sadly, the parasol cart hasn't made a comeback since the Disneyland Resort reopened in 2021. There are no current plans to bring back this delightful souvenir stand. I'm so sorry if this isn't the magical news you hoped for today.
But hang on, KateLynn! Since your visit is a whole year away, there's still a glimmer of hope that this situation might change. New Orleans Square is buzzing with exciting developments lately, making it feel more and more like a quick trip to the real Crescent City. Just this month,
Tiana's Palace opened, and I must say, the
red beans and rice and cornbread were absolutely delicious. Plus, there's the upcoming
Tiana's Bayou Adventure attraction that will open next year! Personally, I'm holding onto hope that parasols might make a triumphant return so we can all channel our inner Southern Belles as we swan about the square once again!
I can't wait to hear more about the magical plans you're cooking up for your visit to The Happiest Place On Earth next year, KateLynn. Feel free to
shoot me another message anytime for a speedy response. I'd love to share
my favorite tips for enjoying the park, blue skies and sunshine, guaranteed!
See ya real soon,
Danielle
