Do you offer any options to have a vow renewal for just the 2 of us? We were married at the wedding pavilion 20 years ago! Thanks!

Hi there Deborah, and a warm wedding welcome to planDisney!

First of all, congratulations on hitting such a major milestone in your Happily Ever After - 20 years of magical memories ever since you tied the knot at the Most Magical Place on Earth! I recently got married and had a Disney Wedding myself and you might be surprised to see that Disney's Wedding Pavilion has received a fresh new look compared to how it was in the past. We're actually in the process of planning for our vow renewal with Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings, so from one Disney couple to another I'm happy to share with you some nuptial knowledge about having a vow renewal at Walt Disney World Resort:

    • You'll be happy to hear that Vow Renewals are currently treated the same as wedding ceremonies at Walt Disney World Resort, with the same access to the venues which you can filter for the number of guests which even allows for a celebrate as intimate as just the two of you and your officiant. Since you share your wedding year with the 1994 release of The Lion King, imagine what it would be like to renew your vows in front of the Tree of Life which is among the many new venue options over the past few years!
    • Bear in mind that you'll still need to hit the event minimum expenditure despite it just being the two of you, which is currently higher than what it was 20 years ago; but that also means you can really "plus" your vow renewal in the spirit of Walt Disney by adding some incredible elements like musicians, character appearances or Cinderella's Coach to meet that minimum! I recommend checking out resources like the Ever After Blog, the Disney Wedding Podcast and DisBrides groups online to find stories from real couples and other vow renewals to see what they included.
Another option to explore may be to celebrate at sea with a Disney Cruise Line vow renewal, which is something I've noticed becoming popular for smaller or more intimate celebrations, with a lower minimum for Onboard Celebrations on top of the price of your cruise booking. This could be your chance to sail into the sunset together as you look forward to many more decades to come! In the meantime, come back again for any other Disney Wedding planning tips or tricks from me or fellow Disney Bride Kay here at planDisney.

Here's to renewing and reaffirming your love at Disney Destinations!
