Hey, Vanessa and welcome to planDisney! We are so glad you are here! You picked such a merry time to visit Walt Disney World Resort! The holiday season by far is my absolute favorite, with the return of
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays and
Candlelight Processional, and
Disney Very Merriest After Hours at Disney's Magic Kingdom Park! The entire resort is decked out in jolly decor, and each theme park is decorated based on its theming. Disney's EPCOT Park is my favorite because of how they painstakingly go the extra mile (or two!) to honor the traditions and cultures of the countries represented at World Showcase and the main tree is my favorite in all of Walt Disney World! I am so excited for you and your family.
Vanessa, on behalf of the planDisney panel and myself, thank you for your family's service to this country! We appreciate and are grateful for all the sacrifices your family has given. Walt Disney World offers special rates for
Disney Resort Hotels for servicemembers and their families, as well as discounts on
tickets and
MemoryMaker, a Disney Photopass product. For disabled veterans, you (or the family member who served) need to be 100% disabled and provide verification with your Military I.D. or paperwork from the VA. If this does not apply, I suggest making a reservation at
Shades of Green, the DoD resort that is on Walt Disney World property. It is very close to Disney's Polynesian Resort and provides transportation to all four theme parks, as well as Disney Springs. Since you are in Texas, you can purchase your tickets from the Leisure/Travel Office at any military installation in the state. I would call the Disney Resort Reservations Desk at (407) 939-1936 to see if you qualify for the military rate for resorts, and they will be more than happy to adjust your reservation if needed.
Vanessa, I hope you and your family have the jolliest holiday vacation at Walt Disney World in December. Say hi to my pal, Mickey Mouse for me!
