Hey there, hi there, Kerri! Welcome, and thank you for your question.
Traveling to
Walt Disney World should be a practically perfect experience for everyone, and one of the things that you'll find for guests with disabilities is
Disability Access Service. DAS, as you may see it called, is intended for guests who are unable to tolerate waiting in a regular queue for extended periods due to a disability.
The way DAS works is that you'll be able to request a return time at an attraction that is about the same as the wait time at the attraction when you visit. For example, if you want to ride
Pirates of the Caribbean, and the wait time in the regular queue is 60 minutes, you can request a return time to come back in about 60 minutes for your ride. That gives you the chance to go and ride another attraction, get something to eat, or relax away from the busy attraction queue.
Once you've registered, which you can now do in advance via an online appointment, you'll be able to preselect up to two 1-hour return windows per day of your trip for
select attractions. You can preregister starting 30 days prior to your trip, and up to 2 days before you arrive.
Kerri, if your disability requires the use of a mobility device, such as a wheelchair or scooter, you will find that nearly all of the queues can accommodate you without going through the Disability Access Service process. You'll be able to take your mobility device through the regular line.
Wishing you happy planning!
Anna
