Hello and welcome to
planDisney, Lauren. Thanks for reaching out with your question.
Lauren, I am sorry to know that you've experienced some loss in your life. I hope you have some wonderful memories to cherish and hold on to of the loved one who has passed away.
While there isn't an official way to honor someone who is no longer with us at
Walt Disney World, Lauren, you could always honor them in a way that is special and meaningful to you. Planning a day that represents the person who passed away would be a wonderful way to celebrate and remember them. Enjoying attractions that were special to them or even represent them in a certain way is a great way to spark conversation and memories of your loved one. Food always brings people together and Walt Disney World has some great dining options. A meal at a favorite restaurant or a restaurant that has some of that person's favorite dishes is a great way to fondly remember someone. Sometimes, Lauren, it is even the simplest moments that have the biggest impact. A quiet thought of remembrance in front of
Cinderella Castle or really savoring and enjoying a firework show are some ideas that aren't flashy but could be a beautiful and long-lasting memory.
Another idea that I have for you, Lauren, is to make a donation in the person's name to the Give Kids The World Village organization. This non-profit provides weeklong, cost-free vacations to children with critical illnesses and their families to places like Walt Disney World. It's a wonderful organization and it always brings me a smile when I see "wish kids" visiting the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. The joy that these children exude and their family members is a beautiful thing to see. This could be an amazing way to honor the person that you've lost. I encourage you to take a look at their website if this is something that interests you.
I know that however you choose to honor someone that you've lost will be beautiful, meaningful and special, Lauren. If I can help you with anything else, please feel free to
stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help.
