Ahoy Sam - welcome to planDisney!
Thanks for swimming by with your question for our team of panelists. We love to help Guests just like you plan your very own, very magical,
Disney Cruise Line adventures!
The brand-new
Disney Wish is such an amazing ship and I'm glad to hear that you've been fortunate enough to experience it recently! I remember my first time on the Wish like it was yesterday, and the scenes you're describing align with what I saw other Guests going during my sailing.
Disney Cruise Line's Castaway Club is a loyalty program that recognizes Guests who sail frequently. A new level, Pearl, was recently introduced and is earned after completing 25 sailings. That's a lot of time on the high seas, but I think it's a great goal to aspire to! If the friends you made on the Wish are Pearl Members, that means they've had quite a lot of experience and are a great resource for Disney Cruise Line tips and tricks.
Sam, your new friends are correct -
costumes are welcome, and in some situations encouraged, when sailing on a Disney Cruise Line ship. There are some common sense restrictions to keep in mind, including not having your face fully covered, not having anything resembling a weapon as part of your costume, and not imitating a Character meet and greet by signing autographs or posing for photos with other Guests on board.
I always think that more theming is great, even if it's done by Guests! The next time you hit the high seas with Captain Minnie, take dinner to the next level by dressing the part!
