Odd question. When on the dining plan, does everyone in a dining party have to participate and use a dining credit, even if they're not eating? I know this may depend on the type of restaurant (menu-based, family style, etc).

    Hi Robert,

If you are on the Disney Dining Plan then everybody in your party in your resort hotel has to be on the same Dining Plan.  However, every member doesn't have to eat at every meal!  So at a particular meal, some can order and use their meal credits while others can save theirs.  This is true regardless of whether you're at a Table Service (full service) or Quick Service restaurant.

Remember, the adult meal credits are all pooled together and the child credits are all pooled together; however, the two pools are separate -- i.e. one pool for adults and one pool for children!  Also keep in mind that all of your credits are available for use immediately upon check-in; so if you feel like eating two snacks on the first day you can!

Just be sure to use all of the credits for everyone eventually!  Signature Dining, Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Review, and eating at additional Table Service or Quick Service restaurants come to mind.  Don't waste any meal credits!

    Have a magical vacation!
