Going in October 2020. Traveling with a 18 year old son, 9 year old daughter, and 12 year old son-high functioning Autistic. We are staying at the Contemporary Resort. We have the Dining Plan. Dining recommendations? Excursions? Shows? Thank you!

Hi, Dwayne!  Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I am so excited to hEAR that you are planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation!  I would be happy to help you plan a trip that your teens and tweens will love.  Since you have plenty of time before your vacation, I would recommend that you and your family do some resEARch on the Walt Disney World website to see which attractions, entertainment offerings, and dining experiences you are most interested in.  This will help you to decide how you would like to spend your time once you arrive for your vacation.

You and your family are going to love staying at Disney's Contemporary Resort!  With its stunning views of Magic Kingdom Park and Bay Lake, as well as its convenient access to the monorail, a Disney's Contemporary Resort stay puts you right in the middle of the magic.

When it comes to dining options, you have some great restaurants conveniently located right in your resort hotel.  If you are looking for a fun character dining experience, Chef Mickey's is a blast.  My family and I have a tradition of enjoying breakfast at Chef Mickey's during each of our visits to the Walt Disney World Resort.  If you are interested in upscale dining with a spectacular view, California Grill can't be beaten.  I think you will find that The Wave...of American Flavors, which is also located in your resort hotel, is a hidden gem.

If you would like to combine dinner and a show, be sure to check out Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show or Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue.  Another great show option would be Drawn to Life, a new Cirque du Soleil show coming to Disney Springs in 2020.

You mentioned that your son has autism.  I am also the parent of a child on the autism spectrum.  The Walt Disney World Resort does a wonderful job of accommodating guests with special needs.  You may want to familiarize yourself with Walt Disney World's Services for Guests with Disabilities prior to your trip.  If you have any questions about traveling with someone who has special needs or any other aspect of your vacation, please visit us again.

    See ya real soon!
