Hi George,
Welcome back to planDisney and thank you for your question!
I absolutely love coming to the Walt Disney World Resort in October for so many reasons! In the past when I’ve come, the weather was still warm, but not like the summer heat. You’d most likely still be able to enjoy your
Disney Resorts Collection hotel pool (weather permitting) and all the fun outdoor activities.
You mentioned football (which is my favorite sport), it is in season during this time in the U.S. You’d most likely be able to catch a professional game on your television in your room or at a restaurant on Sundays, Mondays or Thursdays!
When it comes to the crowds, this is still a popular time to come to the Theme Parks because there’s a lot to enjoy during this season. You have the fall decorations and
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (separate-ticketed event). You’ll also be able to enjoy
EPCOT’s International Food & Wine Festival through the entire month of October! Also keep in mind there is a U.S. holiday on October 10th, Columbus/Indigenous Peoples’ Day. There could be more guests around that weekend leading up to the holiday if you decided to come earlier in the month.
I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is helpful as you begin preparing for your 2023 holiday. In the meantime, if you have other planning questions,
please feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to help!
The Magic Is Calling,
Bryanna
