This October we'll be taking our daughter for her first trip to Disney! I've been many times but this is my first trip with a child. She'll be a little over 1 when we go. What are some tips you can give for rides/experiences/shows for her?

    Hi-ya Pal!

Hooray, Joni! It is wonderful to hear you will be taking your first adventure with your daughter to Walt Disney World Resort this fall! I thought I loved Disney vacations, until I had children of my own and could share the magic with them. The look on their sweet faces, the wonder in their eyes, those experiences are the truly priceless ones--the memories I now cherish forever.

There is so much centered around little ones and experiences you can do together. In fact, Disney had to devote a whole area to all that there is to offer and plan. Visit the Planning for Pre-School Kids and Little Ones website for tips, tricks, and even itinerary examples to make the most of your vacation. Dumbo the Flying Elephant is one of my daughter's favorite rides and experiences and I love that they can play inside in the cool air while we wait for our turn. The best part is that there is a little play area specifically for tiny tots and those just learning to walk! As a mom tip, also make sure you check out the Baby Care Centers. They can be a nice and quiet place to take a few moments to refresh, change, eat or just take a break.

I wish you a wonderful vacation, Joni! If there is anything else we are able to assist you with, please send us another question and let us know.

    Magical Wishes,

    Lauren

Hi-ya, Pals! I'm Lauren, a wife and mother of three who's enjoyed many special occasions at Walt Disney World Resort with my family and friends. From graduations to birthdays, and even our Fairy Tale Honeymoon we’ve loved celebrating at the most Magical Place on Earth. I now have pre-teens who check wait times in the My Disney Experience App just for fun, so I look for any excuse to return "home" often and would love to help you plan a little extra Pixie Dust for your next magical adventure.
