If you had 12 o’clock lunch reservations to see the characters at Chef Mickeys time would you realistically be able to book your next fast pass ride? Trying to make sure I allow enough time at the restaurant and still be able to book some rides

Hello, Danielle! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. You are going to have so much fun dining at Chef Mickey's. I just can't get enough of the sundae bar for dessert, it's so yummy!

I love scheduling an afternoon sit down meal while at Walt Disney World. To me, the parks always feel the busiest right around lunchtime. I'm always looking for a little break whether it be a lunch reservation or a quick dip in the pool. Because you have a 12 o'clock reservation, I would recommend not making your next FastPass+ selection until 2:00 pm or 2:30 pm depending on which park you're going to. I'd plan on a full hour of dining and enjoying the characters. Then, you'll need to factor in time for leaving Disney's Contemporary Resort, getting to the park you decide to go to, going through security and actually arriving at the attraction you've selected. Keep in mind, your FastPass+ selection window is a full hour. You'll have a little bit of cushion in case you are running behind. If you are planning on making your FastPass+ selection at Magic Kingdom Park, I think 2:00 pm would be just fine. If you are making your selection at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom or Epcot, I'd push it to 2:30 just to be on the safe side.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and ask.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
