We will be going from NYC to the Bahamas in Aug 2012. Which Port Adventure in Nassau would you recommend for Mom and daughter aged 8 who is not a strong swimmer? Thanks!!

    Hi Olivia,

As a fellow New Jerseyan, I too am very excited about Disney Cruise Line adding New York City as a point of departure!  I'm so excited for you and your daughter regarding your August 2012 cruise.  You're going to have a blast.

When my family cruised on the Disney Dream this past March, we had a fabulous time with the Atlantis Aquaventure program.  My 11-year-old son can swim but he is not a skilled swimmer either.  Yet he had the most fabulous day experiences the slides, pools, and lazy river rides associated with this port adventure.  I highly recommend this program.  We all had an incredible day!

The other port adventure in Nassau you might want to consider is the Atlantis Dolphin Cay Shallow Water Interaction.  If your daughter loves animals, I would definitely choose this option.  We had hoped to sign up for this port adventure but it was already booked.

Whichever port adventure you choose, be sure to go online and book it as soon as possible.  These amazing experiences fill up fast!

Wishing you a magical DCL experience!
