I am a nursing/pumping mother of a 9 month old on our first trip to Disney.Should we ship baby food, Shop on resort after we get there, Pack it in our luggage,Shop off resort when we get there? And how do I transport frozen breastmilk? We are flying.

    Hi Connie!

Oh, I remember those days!  Breastfeeding is one of the most wonderful things that you can do for your child;however, society has been less than accommodating.  If you are travelling to Walt Disney World with your frozen breastmilk, you won't have any problem.  Simply pack your milk in labeled bags and bring them in a small ice chest with ice or even frozen peas!  Breastmilk has recently been exempted from other liquids and you CAN bring more than 3 oz. of it in one container.  You will need to show it to the security officer, but you will NOT have to taste it or have your child taste it.... despite rumors to the contrary.  Now, returning back home, I honestly have no idea how you will freeze your freshly pumped milk for the ride home.  Even in the Deluxe resorts, the fridges may not be cold enough to freeze anything.

As far as solid baby foods, we always packed our own.  However, you may absolutely purchase it at the resort, although the selection is not fantastic.  I also highly recommend GardenGrocer.com - they have tons of options and will deliver it directly to your resort!  Kiss those baby cheeks for me!
