In November my siblings and I want to book a fireworks cruise as a surprise, to say thank you to our parents! Do fireworks cruises run all year round? And will they run on evenings when a Christmas party is taking place at MK?

Hi Alex, and welcome back to planDisney from across the pond! It’s always a pleasure to see Guests return to us year after year for expert advice and thoughtful recommendations to help make each Disney adventure even more magical than the last. How thoughtful of you and your siblings to plan something special for your parents, and a great way to say thank you.

To answer your question, yes, the fireworks cruises from the Enchanting Extras Collection are offered throughout the year. They’re a unique and unforgettable way to enjoy the nighttime spectaculars from the water. That said, like many outdoor experiences, they are subject to weather and other operational factors that could lead to cancellations for safety reasons. It’s always a good idea to keep an eye on the forecast and be flexible with your plans just in case.

As for evenings when special ticketed events like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party or Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party are taking place, you’ll be glad to know that fireworks cruises are still available. However, since the nighttime spectaculars begin later on party nights, you can expect the cruises to be pushed back as well. These sailings can be quite popular, especially since Magic Kingdom closes early to day Guests, and those without party tickets might be looking for other ways to catch the show. I recommend booking as soon as possible once your preferred date becomes available.

If you’re open to other options, there are some truly magical alternatives to consider. A dinner reservation at a restaurant like California Grill or Narcoossee’s can be a lovely surprise. Both offer fantastic views of Magic Kingdom’s fireworks and pipe in the music from the show. Even better, each has a designated outdoor view, allowing you to step away from your table and take in the full effect of the display. If you’d rather keep things a bit more casual, head to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and grab some Adirondack chairs along the beach of Seven Seas Lagoon. With a DOLE Whip or cocktail in hand, it’s a picture-perfect way to end the evening.

From the Enchanting Extras Collection, you might also consider treating your parents to a Capture Your Moment photo session, an in-room celebration, or even the behind-the-scenes Keys to the Kingdom Tour at Magic Kingdom. Each of these options brings its own kind of magic to an already special trip.

If you'd like me to dig a little deeper and explore more options that might suit your family’s plans, I’d be happy to help. Just visit planDisney.com again and submit a question to me directly.

    See you real soon,
