Since November 18 is Mickey & Minnie's birthday, does the park do something special that day? I will be in Disney that week and was just wondering-I mean they are going to be 86 this year!!

    Hi Amanda,

You sure know your Disney history! In the 1970s, November 18th was officially declared Mickey Mouse's birthday since it is the day Steamboat Willie was released in 1928.  Did you know Mickey had actually appeared in two earlier cartoons?  Steamboat Willie was his first appearance in a sound cartoon and also the first Disney sound cartoon ever made.

At this time there hasn't been an announcement for any special park activities during that day.  If Disney does choose to celebrate the occasion in the parks, the Disney Parks Blog will be the best place to learn it from.  They are my go to Disney news source, especially for fun events and park announcements.

Enjoy your wonderful vacation and I am sure Mickey would want you to eat an extra cupcake just for him.

    Magical Wishes,

    Lauren
