Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Karen!
Your question includes some of my very favorite things - Wishes fireworks, desserts, and the amazing Once Upon a Christmastime Parade - and I’m so excited for you to be in the middle of the amazing magic that is Christmas at Walt Disney World!
The full details and schedule for
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party have not yet been announced, so I checked 2017’s details and the reservation times for both the Fireworks Holiday Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing and the Wishes Fireworks Holiday Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace.
Last year, the Once Upon a Christmastime Parade was held at 8:30 p.m. and again at 11:00 p.m. on party nights. The Holiday Wishes Fireworks were at 10:00 p.m. I love both the parade and the fireworks, so if I were planning for my family, I would plan see the 11:00 p.m. parade. If that’s not a possibility for your family, I think you’ll find you're rushing. The parade lasts about 25 minutes, so you’ll want to find a viewing spot closer to the dessert party location in order to maximize your time. Factor in time for the parade to arrive at your location and remember that after-parade crowds can slow you down.
I always like to check in to dessert parties as early as possible so I have time to enjoy and then claim a great viewing spot. You can call (407) 939-3463 to reserve the dessert party and ask questions about arrival time and the party schedule. Remember: there's plenty of fun (and free treats) to be had during the party, so if the dessert party doesn't fit your schedule, you'll still have tons of festive fun!
Karen, enjoy Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and say hi to my best friends, the dancing reindeer, for me!
Wishing you a merry and magical vacation,
Robyn
