    On Nov 5 2011 Disney had a shopping event at Downtown Disney. They opened the stores early and offered special deals. The money earned on that day was donated to local charities. Is this repeated every year? if so do you know what the 2012 date is?

    Hi there, Laura!

    The Benefit Sale, held this year on Saturday, November 05, was an incredibly well-attended event at Downtown Disney, with a portion of the proceeds of the event's sales to go to the Heart of Florida: United Way organization.

    This was only the second annual benefit, and it was wildly successful, thanks to the generous discounts and great overall deals.

    While the 2012 date has not yet been announced, it is likely that there will be a third year of the event. You'll want to keep checking the Web site, as well as the Disney Parks Blog for information as next fall approaches.
