Welcome back to planDisney, Barbara! I'm so glad to be able to answer your question today.
I totally get wanting to eat at
Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' on your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World. It's an iconic
Disney Springs restaurant that really brings home those Florida flavors! At this time, there isn't a built-in way in the
My Disney Experience app to get notified when a reservation at Homecomin' opens up. The best strategy is the old-school one: keep checking and stay flexible on dates and times.
I have a few tips that really help! Open the app as many times as you're willing to during the day, and try a range of dates and times that would work for you. If your party is large, try searching for smaller groups (like two tables of four instead of one table of eight) and, if you land them, ask at the podium if they can seat you together or near each other. It's not guaranteed, but the restaurant will always do its best to accommodate you!
Day-of is your secret weapon. Lots of people change their plans in the days and even hours leading up to their reservation, so availability can suddenly appear. Also, if your plans allow for it, head to Disney Springs and check the
Mobile Dine Walk-Up List in the app once you're nearby. If there is a waitlist for Homecomin' available that day, you can join the list, and you'll get a ping when your table is ready. If the wait looks long, ask at the host stand about bar or porch seating. Aim for non-peak times, like late lunch, mid-afternoon, or later in the evening. Plans change constantly, so you never know what might happen!
I hope this answers your question, Barbara, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation.
