Is there a way to be notified of a dining cancellation in any of the Disneyworld parks on the day of your visit? I do have the My Disney Experience app on my phone.

Hey Howdy Hey Joyce and welcome to planDisney!

Dining in Walt Disney World Resort no matter if you are in the parks or resort hopping can be an attraction itself. So many uniquely themed dining locations, such a wide variety of food and the theming of the location all play into such a great experience. These advanced dining reservations can be tough to get so I have some tips for you as well as resources you can look into to help increase your chances of snagging these reservations.

Now specifically to your question regarding alerts, unfortunately, Disney does not have this capability on the My Disney Experience app for cancelations and openings. Don't worry yet, I still have some options to review to help get those reservations.

Since you do have the My Disney Experience app you have two options. The first thing you can do is to go on your app daily and multiple times per day to see if there is any availability for the dining location you are looking for. With the app, this should be quick to search for your dining location and I have had better luck selecting variable specific times rather than the general "Lunch" or "Dinner" time frame.

The other thing you can do is wait in line virtually! Disney does have a Walk-Up List you might be able to join through your My Disney Experience app where you can wait in line virtually for your table. This feature is sensitive to your location, so you have to be at least in the park to join this Walk-Up list.

There are some companies that will monitor and notify you of any openings in reservations for your location like MouseDining. Some of these companies provide this service for free with email notifications or with a change for other special ways to let you know of openings. Just be aware of the pricing and know that most of these are just notifications and they do not make reservations for you.

I hope this information was useful and you found a few ways to keep checking for those dining reservations. One final tip is that it never hurts to ask! Feel free while in the parks, even if you don't see any reservation openings available, stop by the Host podium for the dining location and check into availability.

Have a Magical time on your upcoming trip and please feel free to reach back out if you have any questions, we would be happy to help!

    Have a Magical Day,
