I have noticed that most of the rooms sleep up to 4 people. There are 5 of us, 2 adults and 3 children. My son will be 3 at the time of travel. Can we just bring a pack and play or an air mattress for him and stay in a room that sleeps up to 4? Thanks.

Hello Stacey!  Florida has very strict occupancy rules for hotel rooms, and they do enforce these limits at Walt Disney World Resorts. Unless your son is under the age of 3, you will not be allowed to have 5 in a standard hotel room .  As a family of 5 myself, I have often been in your shoes, however, there are lots of options at Walt Disney World, so don't despair.  I

If you are wanting to keep costs down, my best recommendation is Disney's Port Orleans Riverside. Rooms in their Alligator Bayou section have a pull-down murphy bed for the 5th guest, and my family has spent many wonderful vacations at this resort.  Also, while slightly more expensive, the Family Suites at Disney's Art of Animation Resort are simply awesome!  They sleep up to 6 guests, have a small kitchenette, and a separate bedroom for Mom & Dad that also has a 2nd bathroom.  We absolutely love this resort, and you can choose from 3 themes for your suite - Cars, Finding Nemo or Lion King.  Also, Stacey, all of the Deluxe resorts have rooms that can accommodate families of 5. Another great option that my family loved are the Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.  These can sleep up to 6 and are like "glamping" - camping with all of the amenities at your fingertips.  My kids list this resort at their all-time favourite.

Although it appears at first glance that there aren't many options for larger families, I hope this gives you some ideas on where to book for your family's Walt Disney World vacation.  If you have any other questions, please write me back and I would be happy to answer them for you!  Have a magical day!
