Hi Steve!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Dining around Walt Disney World Resort is quickly becoming one of my favorite reasons to visit. With so many food festivals,
social media worthy creations, and treats themed to each season, I like to say that Disney is now secretly an
Eat Park, too!
I have good news, Steve. Your
Disney Dining Plan snack entitlements can still be redeemed for things like a Warm Cinnamon Roll at Gaston's Tavern, a Dole Whip Float at Aloha Isle and many, many more. I agree that the terminology is confusing, but what you see is actually referring to being able to redeem a full Disney Dining Plan Quick-Service or Table-Service meal credit. The disclaimer was added to notate that that particular dining location is more of a 'lite bite' spot instead of one that serves hearty meals of an entree + two sides.
Since snack items come and go with the seasons, current trends, holidays and more, the menus on Disney's website do not notate what is considered a snack. (My theory on this is by the time the page is updated, it's already time to change it.) My personal three ways of checking what is and isn't currently considered a snack entitlement is to play around with the menus in the
Mobile Ordering section of the My Disney Experience App. Here, menus will say what does and does not qualify. My second check is to do a google image search of the name of a dining location + the current year. And thirdly, I am addicted to the fan-spired website 'The Disney Food Blog'. They have great videos and posts of up-to-date information, as well as how to best use your credits. And bonus, a few of the writers are former Moms Panelists!
We'll See You Real Soon, Steve!
