I noticed the Very Mickey Christmas Party ends Dec 18. Does Disney do any other special activies at/on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? Should I extend our vacation by a week to advatage of the Very Mickey Christmas Celebrations?

You probably don't need to extend your vacation, Annie, but if you're looking for an excuse to do so, that one is as good as any and you can count on me to keep your secret!  No but really, when guests visit Walt Disney World in early to mid-December, they have but one chance to see the special Mickey's Once Upon A Christmastime parade and the exclusive fireworks display: during the party.  Guests visiting later in the month--closer to Christmas--will find that both are offered during regular park hours.

My family visited during the Christmas season last year (when the parade/fireworks were offered during regular hours) and opted to skip Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party because we just couldn't justify the expense since we'd be able to see that special entertainment without paying the party ticket premium.  Now, if our visit had been planned for early December we probably would have splurged on party tickets just for the chance to see those famous Disney toy soldiers marching down Main Street and catch a glimpse of the holiday fireworks display.  Lucky us, we didn't have to - and neither do you!
