Just noticed on may 20th 2012 when im at MK, its now open until 2am that day! is this anything to do with the eclipse that day and will i be able to see it?i have been looking online and cant find if it will be visible in florida. Thanx for all your help!

    Hi Kirsty,

An annular Solar Eclipse will begin on May 20, 2012 at around 8:30 pm in Orlando. Unfortunately, sunset that day will happen around 8:12pm so you will just miss it.  This event is best seen on the Western U.S. Coast and in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.  As you know, a solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun and with an annular eclipse this will look like the moon has a halo.  (but still too bright to look at with the unprotected eye.)  At sunset, Mars will be the bright red "star" almost directly overhead on May 20th if you were interested.   Around 11pm, Saturn will be a very bright white "star" close to overhead.  I am so sorry that you will miss the eclipse!  Please send me any other astronomy or Disney related questions if I can help you again, Kirsty.  I hope you have a magical vacation!
