I've noticed that on the 5th of March this year there is a Dance Contest being held. How could this affect our trip next year, as on the 5th March we want to celebrate a birthday? Is the park going to be absolutely manic?

    Hello Leah,

It really is my pleasure and delight as the current British Mum here at planDisney, to welcome you to our pixie-dusted spot!

Leah, it's so wonderful to hEAR that you've been busy planning towards what's sure to be a practically perfect in every way February/March 2023 holiday to Walt Disney World Resort as part of a wider birthday celebration.  What magical fun that's sure to be for your whole family of Mouseketeers!

Birthdays at Walt Disney World Resort are simply THE best!  My top planDisney tip is for you to be sure to take the time to stop by any Guest Relations location to request an "I'm celebrating" badge for the birthday celebrant to proudly wear on their special day.  Wearers of these cute badges are often wished a chEARy "Happy birthday!" by Cast Members and other Guests alike.

Leah, I'm happy to share that dance, or cheerleading competitions and all sorts of other sporting events, do indeed take place at Walt Disney World Resort almost all-yEAR round.  For the most part, sporting events of this sort are hosted at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, and not actually within the Disney Theme Parks

Additionally, although the dates don't yet include 2023, I thought that for your further information you might wish to take a peek at the current calendar of events for Cheer and Dance Events at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex via this handy link.

I hope that I've been able to provide a little zip-a-dee-doo-dah reassurance for you today Leah.  I'd be more than happy to answer any further questions that you may have about holidaying at Walt Disney World Resort - simply stop by planDisney and ask away!

Have a great Disney day ~ Jane
