I noticed on an image of a menu from The Plaza Restaurant that a service fee of 18% will be added to parties of 6 or more. Is that a gratuity, or am I expected to add another 20% for a tip? Thanks for your help!

Hello there, William. Welcome to planDisney. I am so glad you've stopped by to chit-chat about your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation.

William, the Plaza Restaurant at Magic Kingdom Park is one of my favorite places to dine at. It's so cute and quaint and just feels like the perfect meal to have when you are there. I always try to ask for a table that overlooks the Cinderella Castle - it makes the meal even more magical!

With your party of 6 or more, William, you will see a service fee added on to your bill. This is indeed the gratuity so you won't need to tip anything else above and beyond unless you had the most magical service and would like to. This policy of automatically charging a service fee is for most restaurants at Walt Disney World when you have a larger party.

If you'd like to top off your meal in a really fun way, William, try ordering the "Cheers to 50 years!". This dessert has it all. This menu item comes with Chocolate and Vanilla Ice Cream, Brownies, Pretzels, Hot Fudge, Fudge, Caramel Corn with Chocolate Drizzle, Chocolate Chip Cookies, and Cream Topping with a Cherry on top.

Basically, it's all the theme park food turned into one big treat. You just have to see it to believe it Too fun!

I hope this helps you plan and budget for your trip. If you have any other questions about this, or anything else, feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help.

    Enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
