Just noticed Disney offering free quick service dining through August. We are planning a Oct 2010 trip. How likely is it that they will offer some sort of free dining during that month? Is the first week of Oct. a good time to come based on crowd size?

    Hi Penny,

October is a great time to come based on crowd size - especially early October!  Everything is decorated in a fall theme, the park crowds are comfortable, and the weather is still quite summer-like.  The parks will get more crowded closer to Halloween.

As far as your chances for free dining - it's definitely possible.  My husband and I went in October last year, and we got to take advantage of the free dining offer.  However, promotions are subject to change, so there really are no guarantees until an official announcement is made.  Beware though, a free dining promotion will raise crowd levels a little.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation.

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
