I’m thrilled to assist a fellow Citrus Swirl lover, but I’m less thrilled about the answer. Unfortunately, the Citrus Swirl at Sunshine Tree Terrace was retired a while back, and there hasn’t been any indication that it will be returning to the menu anytime soon.
If there is a silver lining, it’s that this menu change has prompted me to branch out and try other DOLE Whip floats and treats. While none quite reach the epic heights of deliciousness that the Citrus Swirl did, there are some good ones worth trying. Here are the floats I’d recommend (menu items are up-to-date at the time of this writing, availability is subject to change).
Sunshine Tree Terrace at Magic Kingdom
- Fanta Orange Float (I know, I know, it’s not the same as a Citrus Swirl, but it’s a good substitute)
- I Lava You Float (Fanta Strawberry Soda and Passion Fruit flavor served with DOLE Whip Orange and topped with Popping Candy)
Aloha Isle at Magic Kingdom
- Tropical Serenade (Passion-Orange-Guava Juice, Coconut Soft-serve, and an Upside-down Pineapple Cake Pop)
Pineapple Lanai at Polynesian Village Resort
- DOLE Whip with Rum Floater
Tamu Tamu Refreshments at Animal Kingdom
- DOLE Whip Pineapple Orange Soda Float
Maybe the Citrus Swirl will make a triumphant return one day, but hopefully these tasty options can hold you over until then. I would keep an eye on the
