Ryan, I am so pleased to meet you at planDisney. There is no better place to put Walt Disney World's service to the test than
California Grill. This restaurant is beloved for its culinary flair and
flares. The view of
Happily Ever After fireworks is so stunning! And, depending on the night, you could get a
shriek peek at
Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular.
I have not seen any information on closures for this restaurant, so I checked the
reservation calendar. I'm guessing you are trying to book a table for two. With all the magic of this dining destination, these are usually the first reservations to fill up. I looked for a party of three and found availability for each night I can currently reserve in September. (The 60-day window limits a full view of the month until later in July.) Reservations here go quickly, but there is hope that it is open each night.
I ran into this same issue trying to get reservations for
Chef Mickey's to take my nephew later this summer. There was no availability for a party of two, but there were reservations for larger parties. I booked a table for 3 and have tried to modify it a few times while counting down the days to our magical trip. I have not had any luck finding a reservation for two, but, in my experience, I have been able to make simple modifications to remove one Guest from a reservation when I checked in.
I do hope you are able to reserve your table at California Grill. Did you know that if you dine here earlier in the evening, you can return to watch fireworks? And, it's the 30th anniversary of this exquisite dining experience. They are celebrating with several menu offerings, including Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli, Grilled Pork Tenderloin with creamy goat cheese polenta, and Blueberry-Goat Cheese Cheesecake. My mouth is watering!
