Ahoy there, Bob, and thanks for sailing by planDisney with your inquiry.
If you ask me, there’s never a bad time to take a Disney Cruise; it’s always the right season for a little pixie dust at sea! I do agree, though, that there’s something especially magical about setting sail toward cooler northern destinations during the summer months. While Disney Cruise Line has called New York home in the past, this port isn’t currently listed as a departure option. But who knows? Perhaps one day Captain Mickey will chart a course back to the Big Apple, and we’ll see those sailings make a grand return.
Until then, I’m keeping my eyes peeled for the announcement of the late fall/winter 2026 itineraries. We typically see new itineraries released about 13-18 months in advance, so I expect we’ll get a glimpse of those in the next month or so. And if you can't wait that long to plan a cooler-weather cruise, why not investigate some of the
Alaskan itineraries from Vancouver?
In the meantime, I recommend
signing up for email updates if you haven’t already, so you can be in the know. I also like to brush up on any DCL news by following the
Disney Parks Blog. And if you’ve sailed with Disney in the past, you’re already a
Castaway Club member and, depending on your status, will have the opportunity to book new itineraries before the general public.
I know it’s a Bibbidi Bobbidi Bummer that I couldn’t give you more specifics, but it makes me feel better knowing there are other Disney Cruise fans (like you!) who are just as eager to uncover what’s on the horizon. Until then, keep your sailor hat handy, and if you think of any other questions we can help with, I hope you’ll make waves back to us here at
planDisney!
SEA ya real soon,
Sami
