Hello Philippa! Welcome to planDisney! You’re absolutely right! Taking a break at a restaurant or lounge is a great (and relaxing) part of any Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
As you peruse the available dining options in the parks and resorts, you might notice that some restaurants and lounges do accept dining reservations, while others are available for walk-in service. For example, locations such as
Nomad Lounge at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and
Enchanted Rose at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa (which I highly recommend) are available for walk-in service but do not accept reservations. So, you would not be able to make reservations at the 60-day mark.
The best way to see which restaurants are available for dining reservations is to go to the
My Disney Experience app. In the search (the magnifying glass at the bottom of your screen), enter the name of a restaurant or lounge of interest and select that location when the name appears. If reservations are accepted, there will be a blue icon that states, “Reserve Dining.” When you tap that icon, you will see if dining reservations are available for a specific date/time. If reservations are not accepted, you might see an icon that states, “Join Walk-Up List.” You can join the walk-up list as long as you are in proximity to the restaurant or lounge. If you’re not in proximity the app will let you know that you need to move closer to the dining location.
Philippa, that was a great planning question! I hope you’ll bring more questions to planDisney as you get closer to your magical vacation!
Happy planning!
