Hi All, I have not been to WDW for years. We stayed at French Quarter and had free Dining, but now we hear that some hotels do not allow the free dining? How do I plan a vacation for 9 adults and 4 kids? we love the FQ, when do they announce dining plans?

Hi there, Jone! Only one thing might make a Walt Disney World vacation even more magical -  a free Disney Dining Plan

Although there is never any set schedule as to when free dining offers come out, you can usually expect them to pop up during lower crowd seasons - like in the fall, right after school starts back. The special offer is often announced about four or five months in advance, so for an August-September free dining offer, you can usually expect an announcement in the spring.

It's not that some hotels don't allow free dining, but the offer varies from year to year, and not all Walt Disney World resort hotels participate each time. It does help to be flexible if you want to book a resort during a free dining promotion, just in case the one you have your heart set on isn't available.

It sounds like you're looking at a big old, fun filled family trip! The key to planning a trip with a big family is to plan early. Dining reservations, for example, can be booked 180 days in advance of your arrival, and if you have must-do experiences, you'll want to book as close to that time as you can. You'll also want to make sure you have a My Disney Experience account - plus the app on your smart phone. It's the best tool to keep track of planning and making FastPass+ attraction selections.

I hope you have the most magical time, Jone!
