Hello! We have not visited in quite a few years. We will be traveling with two small children. Is there a way to book attractions in advance to avoid wait lines? Also are there vegan food options on property? Thanks!

Hey Melinda! We are so glad you decided to stop by planDisney with your question.

I have to say that I think you will find that there are quite a few changes and even more magic since your last visit to the Disneyland Resort. You may remember FastPass from a previous visit that would allow you to get a return time for an attraction and then be allowed to come back at that time and use the FastPass line to make your wait time much shorter.  That is now a thing of the past and now we have Disney Genie+ to make your wishes come true with shorter wait times at select attractions. Once you have scanned your tickets into the park, you can purchase this service for each ticket. Then once you have purchased, you will be able to select a participating attraction and see the return times. When it's your return time you will have access to the Lightning Lane which will give you a shorter wait time than the standby lines. You will be able to make another Lightning Lane selection two hours later or after you've scanned into your next Lightning Lane attraction, whichever comes first. This is the best way to maximize your day with shorter wait times. With the purchase of Disney Genie+, you will also have access to unlimited digital PhotoPass downloads from that day.

You mentioned that you have some little ones in your party, so be sure to check out Rider Switch for select attractions with height requirements. This allows one person to stay behind with the smaller children while the rest of your party enjoys an attraction, and then switch with the party who stayed back.

There definitely are food options for vegans throughout the parks. I suggest you download the Disneyland app and browse the different menus. Most of the quick service locations have at least one plant-based option on their menu. My daughter is vegetarian and sometimes vegan and is always excited to try something new at Disneyland Resort. Her favorites places to find a meal in Disneyland Park are Rancho Del Zocalo, Bengal Barbeque, Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, and Ronto Roasters. Over in Disney California Adventure Park, she frequents Paradise Garden Grill, Pym Test Kitchen, and Studio Catering Co.

Melinda, I hope this information helps you to get even more excited for your visit to The Happiest Place on Earth. Be sure to check out the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival while you are there!
