Not sure if I need vegetarian as a special dietary request - we’re pescatarian & definitely want seafood when available! Is it better to just leave it off and figure it out on the ship? Or should I put vegetarian & ask for seafood when availabI

    Hi Hannah,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you so much for asking us a question!

I’ve travelled with pescatarians before aboard Disney Cruise Line and I’m happy to say that they had plenty of choices when onboard and absolutely adored the food that they ate! Plus, my husband has a severe shellfish allergy, so I know a thing or two about navigating Special Dietary Requests while onboard. After all, eating fabulous food and enjoying great dining is a major part of any vacation for me.

My recommendation in your case is that, because this isn’t a life-threatening dietary allergy (from what I understand), I wouldn’t necessarily add this information to your reservation. Instead, speak to your Server during the first night of your dining rotation and tell him or her what kinds of things you like to eat. Each main dining room (and the quick-service locations onboard) have a selection of vegetarian dishes available at all meals and I’ve typically seen lots of seafood selections, too.

I hope my answer helps you plan a fun and delicious cruise for you and your family!! Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
