Hi Kelly,
You will need to exchange your older ticket for a new, Radio Frequency enabled ticket. You can do that at Guest Services when you arrive at the park. If you are going to be in the area before you plan to visit the parks, you can visit Guest Services at Downtown Disney to exchange the ticket. Any new tickets purchased from Disney will be RF-enabled.
Disney's FASTPASS service has evolved into
Disney FastPass+ service and it operates a bit differently. Instead of visiting each attraction and getting a paper
FASTPASS, you will visit a kiosk and make your
FastPass+ selections. You can make three
FastPass+ selections per day (currently in only one park.) Once you have used all three
FastPass+ selections, you can make more selections, one at a time, by visiting a kiosk.
If you have a smart phone, you will want to download the
My Disney Experience app. Depending on how old your ticket is, you might be able to associate it to your
My Disney Experience account. Once you have a ticket associated with your account, you can make
FastPass+ selections in advance of your visit. When you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, you can make
FastPass+ selections sixty days in advance and when you are staying offsite you can make them thirty days in advance.
Thank you for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I know a new system is a lot to take in, so if you have any other questions be sure to let us know! We'd love to help you have a magical vacation!
