Hey there, hi there, ho there, Marilyn! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney! I'm so glad you've stopped by with such an oh-so-fun question.
Even without a Resort reservation or Walt Disney World theme park tickets, it sounds as if you have a practically perfect Disney day planned! Some of my favorite things to do on a Disney vacation are dining at the Resorts' fantastic restaurants and exploring their unique, immersive theming. Starting your day feasting with Chef Mickey and his pals and admiring the beautiful Mary Blair mural in the Grand Canyon Concourse of
Disney's Contemporary Resort (keep your eyes peeled for the five-legged goat!) is such a great choice, Marilyn. Now, let's get to it!
I think you will be happy to hear that you can absolutely take a magical ride on the monorail after your breakfast at
Chef Mickey's. You will be able to watch the monorails soar by during breakfast, so when you're ready, just head upstairs to hop on. You
will have to go through security and bag check before boarding, but no park ticket or Resort reservation is required. Enjoy the ride!
Just be aware that as a day Guest, you will likely have a three-hour maximum parking limit in the parking lot at the Contemporary with your dining reservation. So, while you are more than welcome to explore and shop at the Contemporary, as well as Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa along the monorail loop, just be mindful of the time. Speaking of time, I hope you have the BEST one!
I hope this was helpful, Marilyn, and I'm wishing you the BEST. DAY. EVER! Please stop by any time with any questions you may have. We at planDisney
love chatting Disney with our pals, pal!
