If we are not staying at the property and purchase the magic bands. Can we link them to our card that way any purchases made can come off of there and us not have to take our cards?

    Hi Britney,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your excellent question.

Using your MagicBand to make purchases in the parks and at Disney Springs is super convenient. Unfortunately, it is a benefit reserved exclusively for guests who are staying at an official Walt Disney World resort

Guests at a number of non-Disney hotels -- the Swan, Dolphin and several in the Disney Springs and Bonnet Creek areas -- do have access to some of the same benefits as official Walt Disney World resort guests. Those include the ability to make FastPass+ reservations up to 60 days in advance and access to Extra Magic Hours.

If you are looking for a way to avoid carrying your credit card, can I suggest a Walt Disney World gift card? On visits when we are not staying in a Disney resort, I often buy a gift card attached to a bracelet. It's almost the same as having a MagicBand and, because I control how much value the card has, it is a way to keep track of spending.

Another alternative: Most Disney retail locations accept electronic payments from your phone, such as ApplePay.

I hope that helps, Britney. Please let us know if you have any other questions as you make your vacation plans. Enjoy!
