We are not staying at a Disney Resort. We are staying off property at a condo for FREE from a friend. So, we are not doing the Dining Plan. Do we still need to make dinner reservations to eat at WDW at any time? Seems stressful to stick 2 a sched on vac

Yes you really should still make Advance Dining Reservations. Why? With the popularity of the dining plan, restaurants are being booked solid months in advance.

Will it be impossible to find a place to eat? No. But you may have to eat at 9 p.m. instead of 6 p.m. or go way out of your way to find an available restaurant with walk-in seating. Or wait an hour (or more) for a table. All of these scenarios take away valuable time from your vacation.

It is a bit challenging to figure out meal reservations for your vacation. I start by making a draft itinerary and sometimes when all is said and done, I've had to call back to Disney Dining to switch some things around - several times.

Your best luck at meal times without a reservation will be at resort hotels. However you will most likely not find walk-in availability at dinner shows or character meals. You'll also need to eat early or late avoiding the crowded meal times.

Our family is not doing the dining plan in June, but I have 1 table service meal per day booked during our visit.
