I am not staying at a Disney Resort. However, I need to purchase tickets, rent a scooter for myself as I cannot walk far, and find out about what a fast pass is or does. It is our first time coming. I have been given so much advice it all runs together.

Hiya, Betty! Welcome to planDisney. I'm thrilled that I get to help you out with your vacation planning questions today!

Let's face it. Planning a vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort for the very first time can get a little bit overwhelming, but don't panic, because I am here to help you sort it all out! In order for us to do this successfully, what do you say if we take it step by step?

First things first, let's get you your tickets. Purchasing theme park tickets is actually incredibly easy, and you have a couple of options to try! Your first option is to visit the Walt Disney World Resort website. Once there, you'll need to hover over the Parks & Tickets tab and scroll down until you see the Theme Park Tickets option. Click on it, follow the steps that will take you through the process of choosing the amount of days needed and some extras that you could add onto your tickets, and purchase the tickets through your Cart. If you prefer not to take that route, your second option would be to speak to a Cast Member at (407) 939-5277. This is the best option for you if you'd like to ask any questions about how to use the My Disney Experience mobile app going forward. That being said, rest assured that any of these options is just as good as the other.

Secondly, let me guide you through the process of renting an Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV). You may rent an ECV at the rental counters in any of the four theme parks, as well as Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and Disney Springs, although pricing may vary slightly depending on the location. Please keep in mind, however, that you may not remove ECVs from their original location, so you must return your ECV to the rental counter if you wish to transfer to a new location. If you're leaving one location and visiting another, you may present your rental receipt to secure another ECV at that location. Remember that ECVs are available for renting on a first-come, first-served basis, so plan to be early.

Last but definitely not least, let's talk about Disney Genie service! Disney Genie was launched back in October 2021 as a permanent replacement (and enhancement!) for the former service, FastPass+. One of the greatest things about Disney Genie service is that it's super easy to access. In fact, you can get to it right from your My Disney Experience mobile app! What Disney Genie does is that it takes your party's interests and uses them to create a perfect Disney day based on what everyone would like to see and do! This, in my opinion, is the best way to explore the Walt Disney World Resort as a first-timer. Within Disney Genie, you're welcome to purchase the Disney Genie+ add-on, which gives you access to Audio Tales (fun facts about the theme parks), fun Disney PhotoPass lenses, and select Lightning Lane entrances to over 40 attractions and experiences throughout the Resort. What Lightning Lane entrances do is that they let you bypass the general queue in order to keep your wait times as minimal as possible. Some of the more popular attractions offer Individual Lightning Lane entrances for a separate price, though, so I encourage you to plan ahead and think about what you would like to do!

Betty, I know that this was a lot of information, so please don't hesitate to come back and ask me if you would like any more help. I'm always happy to assist you in any way I can!

    Have a magical day,
