We will not be staying on a Disney property, but always like to stop in at Fort Wilderness. Looking to have dinner at Trails End and maybe see the Electrical Water Pageant...do we need reservations for dinner and can we park at Fort Wilderness.

    Howdy, R! Welcome to planDisney!

Thanks for sharing your question. It looks like your visit to Walt Disney World is quickly approaching. Woo hoo! You’ll be immersed in the magic and enjoying all the fun offerings of Disney’s Fort Wilderness before you know it.

Dinner at Trail’s End and the Electrical Water Pageant sounds like an amazing way to end your Disney day. Trail’s End is a quick-service restaurant and doesn’t offer reservations, so you’re all set there. Fort Wilderness is home to numerous dining options, which you can read about here, but only Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue offers reservations.

I’m happy to report that day guests can park at the main parking lot near the resort entrance and take the internal bus system to Fort Wilderness dining locations, such as Trail’s End. Parking for day guests isn’t guaranteed, and the parking lot can fill up during weekends or busier times of year.  Security Cast Members at the front gate will let you know if resort parking is available when you arrive.

Since parking at Fort Wilderness isn’t guaranteed, it’s always a good idea to have a backup plan. Complimentary buses can take you from any of Walt Disney World’s theme parks to Fort Wilderness, and there is also a water taxi that runs between the Magic Kingdom and the resort. The My Disney Experience app can provide you with step-by-step directions to most Walt Disney World locations, including Fort Wilderness, so make sure you have it downloaded to your mobile device ahead of time.

I hope this information is helpful, R, and that you have a rootin’ tootin’ good time at Fort Wilderness. Don’t hesitate to come back if you have more questions. You’re as welcome as can be at planDisney!

    Magical travels!
